Lamy Fountain Pens - History
C. Josef Lamy left Parker, where he was an executive, in the 1930th to go into the Fountain Pen business for himself. The company also produced Duofold-inspired button fillers under the Orthos name. Lamy introduced a new line of cheap pens under the Artus name after Second World War. These were among the very first pens in Europe to be manufactured using molded synthetic plastics. In the mid of 1950s, Lamy started to sell pens under his own name. Mostly, these were handsome traditional pens in the style of the modern Montblancs and Pelikans.

After commissioning industrial designer Gred A. Miller, Lamy stepped out from the pack at the mid of 1960s in order to create a new flagship product that was the model 2000, a classic Bauhaus. Surprisingly, Lamy remains a family-run business under C. J. Lamy's son Manfred, and today they're very popular in Europe and less often seen in the U.S. Lamy is currently distributed here in the U.S. by Letts of London.

Lamy Swift Founatin Pen and the Lamy Tipo Fountain Pen
Rollerballs were firstly advertised as ìpoor menî pens that offer smooth writing with liquid ink in a less selective package. You should be aware about the liquid of Capless Rollerball pen that can be drained out when you put the pen in your pocket with the point out. Therefore, Lamy introduced the swift to remove this drawback. All you have to do is to take back the point and the solid steel spring-mounted clip explodes reverse out intended for service. It uses M66 refills.
You can afford the Lamy Tipo if you want same highly-regarded M66 refill as Lamy Swift and it comes in both plastic and metal version typically in less-expensive price. If Swift cost around $50-$80, it cost around $15-$20. The Tipo's clip doesn't disappear, but it does automatically retract the point when you hook it on your pocket.Other similar pens produced under Lamy's production are mentioned below:
