Rotring Fountain Pens
Rotring Fountain Pens are favored by technical writers world wide. Established in 1928, Rotring is considered a technical drawing and writing implement that originated in Hamburg Germany. Their first pens were considered a “stylographic” design with the model name of Tintenkuli. It was a thin tube made of steel rather than having a conventional nib. Rot ring means red ring and this remains the identifying factor of these fine pens today. The stylographs never became as popular as traditional fountain pens but were favored as technical writing instruments and the Rapidograph model is considered to be the prototypical pen for that type of usage. The Rapidograph and Isograph are considered technical pens that are refillable while the Art Pen by Rotring is a fountain pen for writing or calligraphy and is also refillable. The Rapid Pro by Rotring are a line of mechanical pencils with extra leads. The Tikky are Rotring’s line of ballpoint pens, mechanical pencils, markers, ink refills, compasses, geometry squares, erasers, circle and lettering stencils,rulers, and protractors. The Rotring Initial is modern and classic in design with their unique air pressure compensation or APC system that means no leaks or drips even at high altitudes like 30,000 feet up. And the triple ink injection system guarantees the ink flow will be even each time it’s used. Rotring fountain pens have received awards for styling and design and are a fine nibbed precision instrument for daily usage and comfortable handling.
The fountain pen’s nib or writing point, usually manufactured from stainless steel, gold, or even iridium (a form of platinum). Cartridges can be filled with ink and replaced as needed making fountain pen refills easy and mess free.
